SLA – Tough 1000 Resin

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Tough 1000 Resin is a 3D printing material designed for Stereolithography (SLA) technology. It is a ductile, impact-resistant SLA material. Tough 1000 Resin is an advanced engineering SLA material designed to replicate the performance of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). It combines high ductility, impact resistance, and fatigue durability, making it ideal for functional prototypes and end-use parts that experience repeated stress, flexing, or wear. With exceptional elongation at break, long-term fatigue resistance, and smooth low-friction surfaces, Tough 1000 Resin is engineered for parts that must bend, compress, or perform reliably over time without cracking.

Key Material Facts:

  • Designed for manufacturing durable, flexible parts that can bend, compress, and recover without cracking, similar to HDPE plastics.
  • Tough 1000 Resin offers high ductility and impact resistance, making it ideal for functional parts subjected to repeated stress and long-term use.
  • Excellent fatigue resistance (>100,000 cycles) allows parts like hinges and compliant mechanisms to perform reliably over time.
  • Smooth, low-friction surface finish makes it well-suited for moving assemblies such as joints, clips, and wear components.
  • High elongation at break (~180%) enables parts to flex significantly without failure, unlike more rigid SLA materials.
  • Parts can be printed solid and air / fluid tight right off the printer, no sealing required.
  • Strong, durable parts ideal for real-world applications including functional testing, jigs & fixtures, and end-use components.
  • Compatible with assembly features including:
    • Glue Joints / light welding
    • Printed In Threads (However Helicoils are recommended)

Common Applications:

  • Impact-resistant jigs and fixtures designed for repeated use on the production floor
  • Living hinges and compliant mechanisms requiring repeated flexing without failure
  • Snap-fit enclosures, clips, and assemblies that benefit from ductility and toughness
  • Low-friction components such as joints, linkages, and moving assemblies
