ASA+CF is a high-performance carbon fiber reinforced ASA [acrylonitrile styrene acrylate] filament ideal for anyone that desires a structural component with high modulus, excellent surface quality, dimensional stability, and light weight. Made using 15% High-Modulus Carbon Fiber (not carbon powder or milled carbon fiber).
Key Material Facts:
High UV and Weather Resistance: ASA is known for its excellent resistance to UV light and harsh environmental conditions, making ASA+CF a great choice for outdoor applications.
Increased Strength and Stiffness: The addition of carbon fiber significantly improves tensile strength and rigidity compared to standard ASA. This makes it suitable for structural components that need to withstand mechanical loads.
Good Heat Resistance: ASA already has a high glass transition temperature (~100°C), and with carbon fiber reinforcement, ASA+CF can handle higher temperatures without warping.
Dimensional Stability & Reduced Warping: Carbon fiber reduces the material’s tendency to warp, improving dimensional accuracy and reducing the need for a heated chamber.
Matte Surface Finish: Carbon fibers provide a smooth, matte finish, which enhances aesthetics and minimizes the visibility of layer lines.
Chemical Resistance: ASA itself is resistant to many chemicals, including oils, greases, and certain solvents, making ASA+CF suitable for industrial applications.
Common Applications:
Outdoor parts (drones, automotive components, enclosures)
Functional prototypes requiring strength and UV resistance
Mechanical and industrial parts with high stiffness requirements
