SLA – RP 105W

RP 105W is an opaque white SLA 3D printing material designed for balanced strength, toughness, and fine detail. This RP 105W 3D printing material is a go‑to for general‑purpose prototypes that need crisp features and a clean, paint‑ready surface.

Choose RP 105W when you need high accuracy and professional surface quality without the brittleness of legacy resins. It is easy to clean and finish, supports a wide range of part sizes, and is ideal for fast visual/functional iterations. Like most SLA photopolymers, it is not intended for long‑term outdoor UV or high‑heat service.

How strong is RP 105W compared to other SLA resins?

RP 105W provides a balanced stiffness and toughness profile, with tensile strength around 27–31 MPa and Shore D hardness ~76–82. It is well-suited for functional mockups and cosmetic parts but is not a high-impact or high-heat material.

What heat can RP 105W withstand?

Typical heat deflection temperature (HDT @ 66 psi) is ~55–65°C (131–149°F). For applications above this range, consider alternative materials or processes.

How accurate are prints in RP 105W?

SLA in RP 105W supports tight feature definition and smooth surfaces. With appropriate design allowances and orientation, it achieves excellent detail fidelity suitable for snap-fit trials, covers, and enclosures. More information on 3DP part accuracy can be found here.

Is RP 105W suitable for outdoor or long-term UV exposure?

It’s best used indoors. Prolonged UV exposure may lead to yellowing and embrittlement. Consider painting or alternative materials for outdoor use.

What finishing options are available?

Forerunner offers Levels 1–4, from support sanding through paint-prep show model finishes.
Level 1 – Support Sanding
Level 2 – Matte Finish
Level 3 – Mold Master
Level 4 – Paint Prep
Level 5 – Cerakote
