SLA – Elastic 50A Resin

Elastic 50A Resin For Soft Flexible Parts

Elastic 50A Resin is a 50 Shore A durometer material is suitable for prototyping parts normally produced with silicone. Choose Elastic Resin for parts that will bend, stretch, compress, and hold up to repeated cycles without tearing. This resin is engineered to simulate the feel and performance of soft silicone materials and is used in various applications requiring flexibility, durability, and high tear strength.

SLA: Elastic 50A Resin Outdoor UV Weather Test:

These parts were left outside from July 2023 – February 2024 to see how this material would hole up to long term UV exposure and weathering (rain and snow), here are the results:

Fresh parts, July 2023:
Outdoor aged parts, February 2024, 7 months:

In conclusion this Elastic 50A material from Formlabs held up ok after 7 months out door weathering but with rough handling started to tear and break down.

We also set another copy of this part inside our building next to a window but not where it could get direct sunlight, it showed less over exposure (yellowing) and also was stronger and could be handled roughly without tearing:

Indoor aged parts (no direct sunlight or weather), February 2024, 7 months:
